We traveled to Portugal to shoot our newest Resort collection, and explored the island of Funchal, Madeira. While Portugal is well-known, Funchal is an island off the coast of Portugal, know for its mix of mountainous terrain, beaches, and unique swimming destinations.

LIDO BATHING COMPLEX

As a strong symbol of Funchal, Portugal - the Lido bathing complex is a must-visit. With a large solarium, and two salt water pools, the complex is perfect for swimming or simply sun bathing. Adjacent to the ocean, the pools are renewed with fresh water every day and you can asses the sea right from the complex. Grab and sun bed and umbrella and spend a nostalgic day at Lido.

 

 

POCAS DO GOMES

The small bathing complex has natural pools direct from the sea, along with access to the sea. Travel through the different sized natural pools, and sun bathe along the bridges and ledges over looking the ocean. The complex offers showers along with a bar and restaurant.

 

 

PORTO MONIZ NATURAL POOLS

These natural pools are surrounded by volcanic rock, and contain natural sea water. The pools over look the ocean, and water flows in and out of the pools daily. The pools also have a children’s area and pool - so it is a great spot for the whole family.

GAVIO NOVO

Serving up the freshest seafood, Gavio Novo has mussels that cannot be missed - along with the paella. Be sure to make a reservation as it is a local favorite!

BELMOND REID PALACE

The comfortable yet luxurious Belmond Reid Palace, overlooks the sea whilst sitting on a cliff, making you feel within an oasis. With a pool that Slim Aarons would be flocked to, and multiple diving and tanning spots below the cliff, you do not need to leave the property.
